asplanned gets Danish call centre boost
asplanned recently completed a major new project in Denmark for an international call centre operator, installing 100 workstations plus data and power cabling at the Odense centre.

The Denmark contract follows on from similar projects on behalf of the same company in locations including the Netherlands, Sweden, South Africa, France and the UK.

The client is a global outsourcer providing customer contact services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Andy Stewart, asplanned managing director, said: "The Denmark award was the latest in a number of international contracts which have taken asplanned staff across the world.

"It demonstrates how our location in Scotland does not detract from our ability to quickly respond to client requirements, regardless of their location in the world.

"We offer a flexible approach to space planning and design while trying to minimise the overall outlay for the client. The repeat business we are enjoying, both from this client and others, tells us we have the right combination.

Waterside will be a clean, modern dental practice, offering Dundee another upmarket, professional dentistry option. The project follows on from several previous dentistry jobs where asplanned has put its design expertise to good use, delivering everything from functional storage cabinets to a fun kids' play area!

It is this range of skills asplanned is proud to bring to the new Waterside project, offering us another chance to handle the demands of space planning, interior design and choosing the perfect furniture to fit a business' needs and professional image.

Creating outstanding offices for… ourselves!
client:: asplanned

sector:: World-beating office design and relocations

location:: 20 Exchange Court, Exchange Street, Dundee

project:: Conversion of former mill building into brand new office and showroom to showcase asplanned's extensive range of furniture and partition systems. Perhaps unsurprisingly, asplanned carried out all the office design, space planning, move management, installation, and supplied new furniture.

Plans for a slide from the mezzanine level to the ground floor were quickly scrapped, but the asplanned office does now have its very own putting green and recreational area, with a Nintendo Wii!

about:: asplanned is a professional, dynamic company which offers a fresh, fun and innovative approach to office interior design and refurbishment.

asplanned wanted a blank canvas to demonstrate the company's own office design skills and create a showroom to display its fabulous furniture and partition systems.

clientsbrief:: Create a beautiful, modern, efficient office to showcase the best in furniture and partition systems from asplanned's global range of suppliers, and as importantly be a great workplace too!

testimonial:: "Choosing asplanned was easy. We've heard all about their remarkable office design skills and truly sensational furniture, so there was really no other option.

"From the planning stage, through to picking incredible furniture and partitions, installation and the move itself, the team worked hard and created a remarkable office. I'd recommend asplanned to absolutely everyone!"

asplanned recognised as Fairtrade workplace
asplanned was recently given an award from Dundee Fair Trade Forum in recognition of its commitment to using Fairtrade products in the office.

The award also recognises the work done by asplanned and former office buddies Quest (Scotland) to raise awareness about the importance of buying Fairtrade (and just how yummy it is!) when they held a coffee morning to mark Fairtrade Fortnight in March.

The asplanned team were originally invited to the launch of Dundee's Fair Trade Guide at Chambers Coffee House to collect the award, but unfortunately a bout of office lurgy prevented them from attending.

Kindly, Dundee Fair Trade Forum invited us to its latest meeting in the One World Centre to collect our certificate. A great time was had by all, plus there was a lovely array of Fairtrade coffee, tea and chocolate chip cookies to munch on!

Dundee Fair Trade Forum was originally established by the One World Centre in May 2002 to help Dundee work towards gaining status as a Fairtrade City.

Dundee may have now gained the title, but the forum still works actively with the community, retailers, churches, workplaces, schools and universities to increase awareness about Fairtrade and ensure the Fairtrade City criteria continues to be met.

Spotlight
Kirk Potter, research and development director at C2 Software, tells asplanned a bit more about himself...

spirations?
What are your dreams and goals?
To lead a less hectic lifestyle and to change career at some time while I can still be bothered. On the more materialistic side of things, I'd love to own a classic pinball machine.
pare time?
What do you do in your spare time?
My time outside work is spent teaching side drumming in a local pipe band and attending the various competitions and events they take part in. I also enjoy a bit of online gaming, having the odd flutter on football, watching Dundee United and Sunday drives.
assions?
What are you most passionate about?
It may sound like a cliché but I'm passionate about everything I do – I believe that if you are not passionate about something you shouldn't do it. I suppose I'm most passionate about my beloved Dundee United – I just wish the quality within the Scottish game as a whole was better.
ikes and dislikes?
Likes – Curries, white wine, long lies, cheese on toast, friends, good comedy, Lost (the TV programme).
Dislikes – Rude people, soap operas, sweet corn, messiness.
ge?
Be truthful!
35. Some days I feel 18 again, but most days I feel much older!
icknames?
Tell us about any nicknames you have?
I've got a few but most make no sense so I'll spare you.
ext big adventure?
I'm not really the adventurous type but I would like to go back to Las Vegas soon, hopefully this time I'll come back with some winnings!
nvironment?
What does you office space say about you?
Well it has tangerine chairs, which says a lot about my football allegiances. It is organised, tidy, and well thought out – everything I would like to think reflects my personality!!!
ay?
Describe your perfect day?
A sunny Saturday in May at Hampden Park watching United lift the Scottish Cup..
